The night we anointed the entry to our house

We have experienced different battles during this journey, even before we said "yes" to move to Haiti. So it comes to no surprise that the decision to follow Jesus whole hearted will upset the prince of the power of the air,  who is utterly out to seek, kill and destroy.  Everyone who believes the Word of God is completely true and living and active believes that the true battle is in the supernatural. What we see here is less real than the kingdom where the Lord of Lords sits on His throne. That's where we live for. "I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living."-Psalm 27:13.  At times in the past month of living here I have allowed the distractions of being "unsettled" as a family distract me from the battle that is truly taking place. This past week as Aaron started to pray over the family in the morning before he left for ministry and language there was so much more peace. God has given him a specific authority to pray over our family and the team and it is something that we are seeing more often here than in our preparation.

Two days ago Aaron told me he had had another demonic dream and I haven't slept through the night yet since we've been here...for various reasons. The first thing that came to mind is to anoint this home. He didn't say anything about it until after he met with Mike and found out Mike had just done that at his house and suggested it for us...praise Jesus! So yesterday, Friday, is our team worship night and every week Melissa(who leads worship) has had some sort of sickness that day. Not surprised. We decided that instead of having the 6 Haitian men we invited to worship last week over again we would worship as a team and then as a team anoint the house. Right after dinner Aaron was weak and tired from another bought of diarrhea and the kids were in a very off mood. As Aaron shared with the team some things to pray about I went in to pray over the kids. As I prayed I felt an evil presence come at my face and prayed instantly against it. Claimed authority over my children in Jesus and went out to worship. Worship was great, yet Aaron still didn't have a desire to anoint the house because he was tired. We all laid hands on him(Acts 13:2-3) Instantly we all felt this overwhelming love of the Lord and His presence. Aaron instantly had a desire to pray and we all laid hands on the front metal door and Aaron anointed the door and then the children's room. It was so powerful. Such a beautiful peace fell over all of the home and we know this is just the start of many nights were as a team we will need to unite in prayer, fasting and laying on hands because the battle is real.

As we slept again I woke up to the drums of what I believe are voodoo practices. It is very "hush-hush" here that it happens, but we know and have seen and heard testimonies that it is still practiced. As they drummed a scream came blood curdling through the trees. I just tried to begin to sleep and I heard the Lord say "You need to pray" I could not sleep...ha! Why did I even try...yep, me being one of those wonderful disciples who couldn't stay awake while Jesus prayed in the garden...ugh. I sat up and just prayed over the evil that was going on and prayed for others He brought to mind. Then I tried to sleep again and had a specific dream that...honestly was full of lies. It ended with me trying to sing a worship song and the drums pounded out my words...Aaron woke up and prayed over me. ....Wewwwhh! What a night. Aaron, Melissa and Mike all had dreams that had a lie in it so we prayed as a team against it. God is so purposeful. He allows us to see and hear all these things. None of it surprises  Him and we as His children should walk with no fear for fear DOES NOT COME FROM HIM. It is so wonderful to be reminded of the battle that is being waged for the souls out here and all over the world. The power of prayer as a team and being obedient to His Word and following what the disciples and Jesus did is so amazing. Ha...if only we truly saw the Bible as our complete instruction book. It's as if we try to build a rocket with absolutely no instructions and we're sure we can do it...

The night we anointed the doors much was done for His kingdom. And our desire is to continue to pray, fast and press in as He has been moving and saving souls out here!! Praise Jesus!
